Carrot, ginger and apple come to breakfast
Here is a healthy way to start your day.
Vegetable and fruit juices are a great way to energise and cleanse. They give you a combination of vitamins and minerals that can be easily digested by the body. Often these drinks are better at quenching your first than water, especially when served chilled. Here is a recipe for carrot, ginger and apple juice which is not only thirst-quenching but delicious. This juice drink is good for adults and children. However , children will only need a small cup full and you may want to dilute it so it is not too rich for them. Also remember to remove the seeds and core of the apples.
This video will show you what to do. The video also has helpful information about the benefits of carrots with regards to eye floaters.
Serves 2
You will need:
A juicer
Ice or just chill the apples and carrots in the fridge overnight
4 carrots
2 apples
Half an inch of ginger
Sprinkle of nutmeg to garnish.
To prepare:
Carrots: There is no need to peel the carrots, but you should wash off the dirt and grime thoroughly . If you find that the carrots are very dirty , it is probably easier and best just to peel the skin off. However, as the skin of vegetables has the most nutrients and vitamins, if you can keep the skin on then it is wise to do so.
Apples: Wash the apples thoroughly and leave the skin on so you get all the benefits of the nutrients. Cut into pieces and remove the seeds/core of the apple.
Ginger: Peeled the ginger.
JUICE: Put the carrots , apples and ginger through the juicer one at a time. Add mineral water if it is a little too thick. Stir well and serve with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
